The Jollibee Gravy and Inflation

Earlier at the office during lunch break, everyone craved for Jollibee (since there's no Jollibee in Mckinley) and everyone was willing to pay for the "extra" gravy, kasi mura lang naman. To cut the story short, Cravings were satisfied and we all had a great lunch.

Singilan time na! We got the shock of our lives when we saw how "EXPENSIVE" the Jollibee gravy had become! Php 14.30 for an extra gravy!!! Halos Ka-presyo na ng extra rice!!! (or maybe hindi na din ngayon!)

I used... to work in Jollibee as a service crew way back 2004 while studying in college. Back then, it was only Php 3.00. In year 2007, it increased to Php 5.00 but now, PHP 14.30!!! So, INFLATION became the trending topic of the day (plus the expensive gravy haha!).

Whether we like it or not, INFLATION is the silent thief that eats away our hard-earned income. If today's inflation rate of 4% stays that way in the next few years while your money is placed in a per annum 1% interest earning vehicle, do you think you can still afford the things we need/want to buy?

With proper financial planning, YOU can beat INFLATION.

Your Mcdo Value Meal is more expensive than an Insurance

While walking to Ayala Terminal earlier with my client, he told me that at the age of 34, he realized that he had spent so much on material things that are way more expensive than an insurance investment, like gadgets and other stuffs that we call "luho".

He told me how he could not believe that saving money for as low as Php 43.00 per day, which is cheaper than a MCDO Value meal, he could secure his dreams for his daughter and his wife as well as plan for a brighter financial future through mutual funds. What made me even happier was when he told me that he would share this to as many people as he can. He is now an advocate of financial literacy.

Thank you Lord for this mission! Thank you Lord for today!
